This is it ...... Frittata. Another Italian food that I have tried. The name of this food is similar to my name. hehehe Frita -Frittata. yayaya.
So, let's know what Frittata is.
Frittata is kind of food that comes from Italy. From Its shape, Frittata is an egg-based dish similar to an omelet. The additional ingredients is so vary, like vegetable, meat, cheese, and also pasta. Frittata mixes egg with that additional ingredients then cooked in a skillet. Frittata is easy to be cooked because it can be cooked with vary kind of methode, like on the stove, in the microwave, or reguler oven. It's based on recipe. There are some variety of frittata that have been made by people, like :
- brocoli frittata
- chessy pasta frittata
- spinach frittata
- potato and vegetable frittata
- etc
First of all, in this posting, I'll tell you about "Potato and Vegetable Frittata" that I taken from allrecipes.com become "Simple Potato and Tomato Frittata".
Simple Potato and Tomato Frittata
Ingredients :
- 1 teaspoon olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 2 cups cooked and diced potatoes
- 1 cup chopped fresh tomato
- 2 tablespoons black olives
- 3 eggs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1/2 small tomato, sliced or tomato sauce (optional)
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
Notes:
- You can use skillet with diameter 20-25 cm.
- You can add sossis or meat to make food more tasty.
- On the preparation step, potatos is in halfcooked by frying or boiling.
- For the optional vegetables, you can subtituted with spinach, brocoli, and etc. But you have to control the cooking time. Don't take long time to cook vegetable like spinach before mix with the egg.
